BACHELOR OF COMMERCE (BANKING & INSURANCE) (BBI):
A programme in Banking and Insurance is developed to cater to the needs of Banking & Insurance sector. It helps in familiarizing the students with the basic concepts of funds management, regulatory framework of RBI, core accountancy concepts like credit risk management, financial management, cost accounting, financial accounting and an overall purview of financial markets. It also provides in-depth knowledge about international banking and finance and research methodologies to understand the areas and techniques of research in the field of banking and insurance.
ELIGIBILITY:
0.5209: A candidate for being eligible for admission to the Degree Programme in Bachelor of Commerce (Banking & Insurance) shall have passed XII std. examination of Maharashtra State of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or its Equivalent and secured not less than 45% marks in aggregate in case of students belonging to Open Category and 40% in aggregate in case of Reserved Category at one and at the same sitting. Every Candidate admitted to the Degree Programme shall have to register himself/herself with the University of Mumbai.

The course will have six semesters conducted on the revised pattern using Credit Based Semester System and Grading pattern. All examination will be conducted by the University of Mumbai.
Each subject in all semesters will be evaluated for 100 marks which is bifurcated as 75 marks theoretical exam and 25 marks internal assessment which include class presentations, projects, tests, class participation and attendance. 30 marks in theoretical exam and 10 marks in internal assessment are required to pass a subject.
The course covers 38 subjects and 2 projects on Banking and Insurance of 100 marks each, which are to be submitted in the final year.
