Accessibility Policy for MKS College
1. Physical Infrastructure Accessibility
Barrier-Free Campus Design
- Ramp is installed at building entrance to ensure smooth access for wheelchair users.
- Accessible toilets is provided to PwD
- Access to PwD students also provided through lift facility for reaching classroom on the 2nd floor.
Inclusive Mobility Infrastructure
- Pathways across the campus are wide, safe, and non-slippery.
- PwD friendly seating arrangements in the classroom and adequate circulation space.
Emergency Preparedness
- Inclusive evacuation plans will be developed prioritizing students with mobility or sensory impairments.
- Regular emergency drills will be conducted with active participation and support for all students.
2. Digital and Academic Accessibility
• Three Computer labs with total 67 Computers are available for students.
Accessible Learning Resources
• Syllabi, lecture notes, and library materials convertible into accessible formats is available in college library.
• All digital documents will be made compatible with screen readers and assistive technologies.
Inclusive Pedagogy
• Faculty training workshops will be organized regularly to promote inclusive teaching practices.
3. Campus Life and Student Support
Inclusive Campus Activities
• Sports, cultural events, and extracurricular activities are designed to be accessible to all students.
• Student organizations promotes to encourage active participation.
Counselling and Mentorship
• A dedicated counselling cell is established to support academic, emotional, and personal needs.
Scholarships and Financial Support
• Scholarships and financial aid opportunities will be provided specifically for students with benchmark disabilities.
• These opportunities will be widely publicized to ensure maximum awareness and participation.
4. Governance, Monitoring, and Accountability
Accessibility Committee
• An Accessibility Committee comprising faculty, students, administrative staff, and external experts will be constituted.
• The committee will oversee implementation, review progress, and recommend improvements.
