A College Student’s Mentoring Cell provides structured guidance, emotional support, and academic counseling to foster holistic development, typically pairing faculty members with small batches of students.

It aims to bridge the gap between students and faculty, address personal or academic challenges, and enhance career prospects through regular, confidential interaction.

Key aspects of a student mentoring cell include:

  • Objectives: The primary goal is to improve student performance, ensure mental well-being, and provide a supportive environment that boosts confidence.
  • Mentor Roles: Faculty members act as mentors, offering guidance on academic, personal, and career-related issues, and they often maintain records of student progress.
  • Activities: Mentors conduct regular one-on-one meetings, address attendance issues, offer career counseling, and sometimes coordinate with parents.
  • Focus Areas: The cell focuses on supporting students from varied backgrounds, managing stress, developing skills, and improving academic performance.
  • Structure: Mentoring cells often involve the IQAC committee to monitor, review, and evaluate the effectiveness of the mentorship program.

Commonly cited responsibilities of a mentor:
